Bulls wait on injured trio

2014-04-14 11:37

Sydney - Bulls coach Frans Ludeke will know on Wednesday if he could select Jurgen Visser, Flip van der Merwe and Akona Ndungane for this weekend's Super Rugby match against the Waratahs (kick-off 11:40 SA time).

Visser (foot), Van der Merwe (bicep) and Ndungane (hamstring) will undergo a final fitness assessment on Wednesday before team selection, team doctor Org Strauss confirmed.

Strauss also confirmed that loose forward Dewald Potgieter had successful surgery on his torn bicep. The player will be out of action for six months.

Fellow loosie, Deon Stegmann, who also returned home due to a groin injury, will undergo surgery on April 23. This could rule him out for at least four months.

Pierre Spies (bicep), Arno Botha (knee) and Frik  Kirsten (neck) remain on the long-term recovery list.

Tahs will want to take out their frustration after the loss to the Force and ARU decision to withdraw a player...good luck Bulls, think you gonna need it.

      Mark Sharks - 2014-04-14 12:16

Agreed, Bulls to go down by 50, with or without their injured cattle!

      Micio Profumato - 2014-04-14 13:11

Little does everyone know, "frustration" is lionels nickname for his penis.

      Barney Barnato - 2014-04-14 13:17

Frans Ludicrous must do his utmost best during the two weeks in Australia to keep the players away from all sheep or anything remotely resembling a sheep, including fellow team members that could be seen as such.

Barney was jy die swartskaap in jul gesin, het jy n letsel oorgehou. Of gee jou kuk span jou die suur persoonlikheid?

Ugh, I'd also fake injury if I play for the Bulls currently. Get rid of Ludeke and crappy players like Ross, get a coach that actually knows something about rugby (fact that he got fired from the Lions unions should've said something) and put players on the field who know what to do with a ball. Voila... PS, I'm a staunch but seriously fed-up Bulls supporter.

      Daniel Wessels - 2014-04-14 12:55

If you feel bad just think of how I feel, a staunch Stormers supporter. at least we didn't lose this weekend though.

      Micio Profumato - 2014-04-14 13:05

Well loffie eloff got fired too. Look at him now.

  • Martin Pienaar - 2014-04-14 12:08

    Eish. Moet maar punte gee.

  • Drake Richardson - 2014-04-14 12:12

All Bulls players need to be assessed for possible hand injuries. Still amazes me how so called healthy digits struggled to hold on to a ball.

      Garylee Roodt - 2014-04-14 12:22

Hahaha! I laughed too hard at this. So true.

      Gluteus Maximus - 2014-04-14 14:38

Pasop Gaylee. As n Bull net dalk n bossie bene maak met sy vingers gaan jou lip swel.

      Jim King - 2014-04-14 14:42

hulle moet maar patats gaan boer in die boland.. # chops

      Barney Barnato - 2014-04-14 16:17

All the off the field sheep shagging by the entire team left the arm and hand muscles totally lame and thus incapable of properly catching, passing and/or holding on to a rugby ball on the field of play.

  • Mauritz Botha - 2014-04-14 12:34

Is it just me or are South-African players not fit enough. Every week you hear at least 2 players got hurt during the weekends games and I really think this is worrying fact for Boks going into 2015.

      Micio Profumato - 2014-04-14 13:09

The problem is when overseas they cant buy real Jungle Oats.

      Priester Bulls - 2014-04-14 13:15

Mauritz I agree. We were taught that one get injured when not fit. This was also the case with wrestling. Possible poor fitness levels may also be the reason why the Bulls would lead a game only to let it slip. A few years ago the opposite was noticed when the Bulls often came from behind to sneak a win.

      Micio Profumato - 2014-04-14 13:24

Priester how long ago was it when you can remember the Bulls pulling a game back to win in the end? Nowadays, as soon as we go 10 points down, the game is lost. What happened to our team? I remember those never give up days. Now all I see are the plonkers moping around or botching every chance to score as if they are all thinking "ag yissy manne ons gaan alweer verloor". That is my pet peeve about the Bulls right now. Where are the hard get stuck in okes like wannenburg, roussow, bakkies, dupreez, roets, botha hooker and botha centre and I hate to bring it up, but habana as well???

      Gluteus Maximus - 2014-04-14 14:41

      Too much playstation and tv.

      They have eternal brain damage

  • Greegs - 2014-04-14 14:21

Bulls actually played good rugby bar the handling errors which turned into points against them. Will be a tight game....

  • Gluteus Maximus - 2014-04-14 14:43

You can push a spring only that far before it releases with all its energy. Keep pushing the Bulls...

      Jim King - 2014-04-14 16:03
