Bulls confirm Pollard deal

Johannesburg - The Blue Bulls Company confirmed on Monday that Junior Springbok flyhalf Handre Pollard will join the Blue Bulls at the end of 2012.

The 18-year-old Paarl Gymnasium scholar was one of the stand-out players in the Junior Boks' successful campaign at this year's IRB Junior World Championships in South Africa.

He scored 42 points, including 12 points in South Africa's 22-16 victory over the Baby Blacks in the final on June 22 in Cape Town.

Blue Bulls Company chief Barend van Graan said Pollard had been on their radar for more than two years.

"We encouraged, through our scouting process, a possible move to the Blue Bulls after his school studies way back in 2010, when Handre played in the Grant Khomo Week for Under-16 players," said Van Graan.

"What impressed us then was his cool head under pressure and the maturity of his general play and decision making.

"His performance during the JWC confirmed that potential and we are excited to have him in our structures later this year."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
