Cape Town - The Brumbies have strengthened their grip on the Australian Conference with victory over the Reds in their Vodacom Super Rugby clash in Brisbane on Friday.
The Brumbies won 23-20 after leading 20-10 at half-time.
The Brumbies scored two tries through lock Scott Fardy and wing Joe Tomane. Scrumhalf Nic White was on target with both conversions as well as three penalties.
The Reds replied with tries by flanks Beau Robinson and Ed Quirk. Flyhalf Quade Cooper was successful with both conversions and two penalties.
The Brumbies picked up four points for their victory to extend their lead atop the Australian Conference - and take over from the Sharks at the summit of the Overall standings.
The Reds picked up a single point for losing by seven or fewer points, but remained fourth in the Australian Conference and 11th overall.
In next weekend's Round 10 action, the Brumbies and Reds both have byes.
