Cape Town - The blanket that has been covering the Free State Stadium field to help improve the playing surface, has been lifted.
The condition of the playing surface deteriorated in the last while which forced the Free State Rugby Union to enlist the help of experts to resurrect the field.
The union has enlisted "grass specialist" Christo Coetzer to the fix the problem.
The Cheetahs face the Hurricanes (March 15) and Blues (March 22) before returning to South Africa.
Their next home game is against the Chiefs on April 5.
The specialists had covered the field in a blanket to prevent birds from eating the seed they'd planted.
The Cheetahs confirmed as much on their Facebook page on Monday, posting the pictures below.
