Bees back to bulk up Lions

Johannesburg - The Lions have received a boost ahead of Saturday's opening Super Rugby game against the Cheetahs when Bees Roux was on Monday declared fit to play.

Roux was stretchered from the field during Friday night's warm-up game against the Sharks, sustaining a severe neck stinger.

No other injuries were sustained during the warm-up games at Ellis Park.

Anthony Volmink, Elton Jantjies and Ruan Dreyer, who are all currently recovering from shoulder injuries, continue to make good progress, the union said on Monday.

"Dreyer is being considered for this weekend's game following a rapid recovery, while Jantjies and Volmink is expected to be ready to play within the next fortnight."
