Basson cited for foul play

Durban - Bjorn Basson of the Bulls has been cited for alleged foul play during a Super Rugby match at the
weekend.

Basson is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (j) Dangerous Tackling – Lifting Tackling when he tackled
Sharks #10 Patrick Lambie. The incident occurred in the 44th Minute of the match between the Bulls and
Sharks at Kings Park, Durban on Saturday 25th May 2013.

The referee for the match: Jonathan Kaplan issued a Yellow Card for the incident.

Upon further review of the match footage the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had
met the Red Card threshold for foul play

The Citing is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Jannie Lubbe SC.
