Sharks mix and match for Force

Johannesburg - The Sharks have mixed and matched in their selection for Tuesday night’s pre-season friendly against the Western Force in Cape Town.

The match will provide the Durban team with an opportunity to give their entire 28-man squad some much-needed game-time and they have been able to name a 13-man bench for this warm-up match.

Up front, the explosive Craig Burden starts at hooker, with the experienced Jannie du Plessis and Tendai Mtawarira on either side of him.

Alistair Hargreaves and Steven Sykes have been preferred over Johann Muller and Gerhard Mostert in the second row, while the loose-trio is made up of Keegan Daniel, Jean Deysel and Ryan Kankowski.

Controversially, Willem Alberts is set to get some game-time off the bench, despite the fact the Lions are yet to officially release him.

Meanwhile, in the backline, Rory Kockott and Monty Dumond will combine in the 9-10 channel and Riaan Swanepoel and Waylon Murray in the midfield.

Lwazi Mvovo and Luzuko Vulindlu will start out wide on the wings with Stefan Terblanche completing the back three.

Sharks team:

Stefan Terblanche, Luzuko Vulindlu, Waylon Murray, Riaan Swanepoel, Lwazi Mvovo, Monty Dumond, Rory Kockott, Ryan Kankowski, Jean Deysel, Keegan Daniel, Steven Sykes, Alistair Hargreaves, Jannie du Plessis, Craig Burden, Tendai Mtawarira,

Replacements: Bismarck du Plessism, John Smit, Johann Muller, Jacques Botes, Charl McLeod, Andries Strauss, Odwa Ndungane, Patric Cilliers, Willem Alberts, Gerhard Mostert, Patrick Lambie, Adrian Jacobs, JP Pietersen.
