Cape Town - Overnight all available seating and standing tickets for the Vodacom Super 14 semi-final between the Vodacom Stormers and the Waratahs have been sold, it was announced on Wednesday.

WIN: Stormers v Waratahs tickets

There remains a possibility that small amounts of tickets may be returned to the system during the week. Ticket availability updates will be posted on

Stormers fans in search of tickets for Saturday's Super 14 semifinal showdown with the Waratahs were left fuming on Tuesday morning after the Computicket system crashed.

Irate fans called into radio stations and posted messages on social networking site Twitter, complaining that they had been unable to buy tickets for the Stormers' crunch match against the 'Tahs at Newlands Stadium.

Eyewitness News reported that dozens of fans had been unable to secure tickets after standing in queues for several hours.

I'd like to know how people could get tickets. I tried the whole day on Computicket yesterday, from 07:00 in the morning. the message I got is thet the system is overloaded. The same this morning. Whats the use of offering the tickets on Computicket if one can't get in.

The worst part is...there are people who buy ten tickets, but only four are for themselves. They go and resell the other six on Gumtree for R1000 a ticket!!!! Thats f-ing mental!!! They are taking away oppertunities for people like me to get tickets!!! Screw u all!!! Stormers and Saders in the final!!! Going to sleep at newlands next monday...see u there...

Wie gee om?? Hoop daai berg in die agtergrond val om op Nuweland en ja dit is nie nodig vir Koeberg om te ontplof nie, julle is alreeds 'n klomp mutasies!!

    At last !

WP Rugby and Computicket should be ashamed of themselves for this catastrophe. Hours in a queue only to be turned away due to system errors and then the tickets miraculously dissapear overnight. Disgusted. Even the Fifa WC ticketing process was better organised. I hope the Tahs give you a helluva hiding on Saturday.

I am livid as I am sitting here. Throughout the season I have been supporting the Stormers with each and every home match. The fact that only 20 000 tickets were available for the public is unacceptable. What is Newlands capacity 45 000? My blood pressure is sky rocketing, I so much wanted to be at Newlands on Saturday. Shame for me and it is all Computickets fault

How can the venue be semi sold out? It's either sold out or it isn't. Duh.

  • @Prooovince - 2010-05-19 10:46

stop complaining , best you settle down for a next 11 years next to Newlands and squat before you get another chance at a semi !!! Typical , its both SA teams in a home semi , and allais you are scared to meet the Bulls !! Go Bulls and Stomers from a SA Rugby fan . Get real man !!

Computicket, you people are pathetic. Tried the entire day yesterday, website down all day. Eventually got through and put on hold for 45 only to be told they couldn't log on. Flippen hopeless organisation.

  • Lydon - 2010-05-19 10:53

Well on the bright side at least there's no lack of support for the Stormers =)

  • Ice - 2010-05-19 10:54

I Fully understand people living in Cape Town have first choice getting tickets, but i was at a computicket centre yesterday at 08:30 in Port Elizabeth, and was unable to get tickets for the whole of yesterday and this morning, they need to improve the online system for people who do not live in the cape to get access to tickets.

you see this is the difference between bull and stormer supporters. We still need to beat Crusaders but already youre in the finals.Hope it doesnt come and bite you in the butt! good luck to povince anyway! as for you youre a T.W.A.T

  • Pissed-off - 2010-05-19 11:01

Computicket & WP Rugby must have known this was going to happen, yet they put no contingency plans in place. After standing in a que for 3 hours at Newlands & I eventually got my tickets, but what about the poor soul that couldnt go to Newlands to buy tickets? Lets say the Stormers get a home final, what are they going do then, why do we not hear from Computicket or WP Rugby, are they just going to let the systems crash again? Very poor show I say!!

  • @ Proooooooovince!! - 2010-05-19 11:06

i will see u at Newlands on Monday...also decided already i'll be camping out! those people on Gumtree should be ashamed of themselves. people are wanting to sell even the standing tickets for R250! i got through twice to computicket yesterday but couldn't buy any tickets because the system could not process any payments even though i sat on the phone and waited for a loooooooonnnnnggg time. and now this morning all the tickets are gone!
