Sydney - Australia winger Peter Hynes has snubbed a move abroad to sign a new domestic contract, making him available for next year's Rugby World Cup, officials said on Friday.
Hynes, 27, has re-committed to the Reds and the national set-up until 2012, the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) said in a statement. Only players based in Australia are eligible for the national team.
"There are a lot of things to play for and a lot of things I want to achieve in the next couple of years," Hynes said.
"I want to be part of the Reds becoming a dominant force in Super Rugby... there's also a World Cup in New Zealand next year."
On Thursday, Hynes was included in Australia's 30-man squad for next month's Tests against Fiji, England and Ireland.
