Force winger suspended

Perth - Western Force winger Nick Cummins has been suspended for two weeks for a dangerous tackle in Saturday's 28-15 loss to the Super 14-leading Bulls.

A Super 14 disciplinary panel found Cummins guilty Sunday after he was cited for lifting Bulls back Jacques-Louis Potgieter past the horizontal level and failing to help break his fall in the 71st minute.

Citing commissioner Campbell Thomson says Cummins "lifted and dropped the Bulls player to the ground with no regard for his safety."

Force general manager Mitch Hardy said the club would appeal the ban.

"We strongly feel that there wasn't any wilful intent or otherwise on the part of Nick to lift and drop the player," Hardy said.

The South Africa-based Bulls are undefeated after seven rounds. The Force is winless.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
