Wellington – Hurricanes’ hooker Dane Coles has been fined and suspended for one Super rugby match after his arrest early Sunday on a charge of disorderly behaviour.
Coles faced a New Zealand Rugby Union misconduct hearing Wednesday which applied the sanctions, issued him with a formal warning, fined him 1,000 New Zealand dollars and ordered him to undergo counselling for alcohol and behaviour management.
The rookie hooker will miss the Hurricanes' third-round match against the Crusaders on Friday.
Highlanders’ winger Fetu'u Vainkolo was similarly fined and suspended last week after throwing a drink over a female patron at a Dunedin bar.
He missed last Friday's second-round match against the Hurricanes while serving a one-match suspension.
