Cape Town - The Stormers returned to official training on Monday at the HPC (High Performance Centre) in Bellville and immediately underwent post festive-season fitness tests.
And the results impressed fitness and conditioning coach Stephan Du Toit.
“The bulk of the players tested exceptionally well against the fitness and conditioning targets set for own training over the festive season, with a number exceeding the targets set,” Du Toit told the Stormers' website.
“Overall we were very pleased with the progress made by the group. Competition for places is tough and the boys are pushing each other hard. You can see that despite the time off the players trained hard.”
The players now embark on a pre-season rugby specific training camp to Hermanus.
They will host an open session at 10:00 on Wednesday at Hermanus Primary School. The team will train and then host a signing session.
