Paris - Stade Français have signed Argentine prop Santiago Garcia Botta as
medical cover for injured South African Heinke van der Merwe, the club
said on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old Garcia Botta joins from Argentine outfit Belgrano Athletic. He has played for Argentina 'A' three times.
Van der Merwe, widely regarded as one of the best looseheads in the French top flight, underwent surgery on a bicep problem at the end of last month.
The former Leinster front-rower, who has been capped four times by the Springboks, is expected to be out for another four months.
