WATCH | Eben Etzebeth touches down in Toulon

Cape Town - Toulon in France got a taste of Rugby World Cup star power on Thursday when Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth arrived in the city.

Etzebeth, a key part of the Springboks' third Webb Ellis Cup victory in Japan earlier in the month, has left the Stormers in order to continue his career at the Top 14 giants.

Etzebeth has signed a two-year contract with the club who find themselves in fifth place in the standings after nine matches this season.

Having arrived only two days before kick-off, Etzebeth will miss Toulon's next away match on Saturday against third-placed Pau.

Etzebeth joins a number of compatriots at Toulon, including Marcel van der Merwe, Wilco Louw and Louis Schreuder.
