Sports minister hands out Bok jerseys

Johannesburg - Sports minister Thulas Nxesi had the honour of presenting the Springboks with their match-day jerseys on Friday ahead of Saturday's clash against France in Johannesburg.

Nxesi took over as South Africa's sports minister in March after president Jacob Zuma's controversial cabinet reshuffle saw him replace Fikile Mbalula, who became the new minister of police.

Nxesi seems a far more reserved character compared to Mbalula, who is a known fan of the limelight and engaging with his followers on social media.

Still, Nxesi is an avid rugby fan and one of his first actions in his new role was to support South Africa's bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

The Boks go into Saturday's third and final Test against the French with a 2-0 lead having secured comfortable wins in Pretoria and Durban.

Kick-off is at 17:05.
