SARU in no hurry to name Bok coach

Cape Town - The South African Rugby Union (SARU) will not make a hasty decision regarding the appointment of the new Springbok coach.

According to Netwerk24, the new Bok mentor will only be appointed at the end of March.

This comes after SARU’s general council agreed in December that the post would not be advertised.

SARU CEO Jurie Roux will drive the process with the final recommendation having to be approved by the general council when they next meet in late March.

Former Stormers coach Allister Coetzee, currently with the Kobelco Steelers in Japan, is the front-runner to replace Heyneke Meyer, while Lions coach Johan Ackermann and former Sharks coach John Plumtree (now forwards coach at the Hurricanes) are also in contention.
