Rassie set to meet with former Bok coaches

Cape Town - Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus is reportedly set to meet with former national coaches to discuss the challenges that await him in his new role.

Afrikaans website Netwerk24 is reporting that Erasmus will meet with former Bok coaches in Cape Town on Wednesday night.

The aim of the meeting is for Erasmus to discuss challenges the former coaches encountered during their stints in charge, what they learned from their experiences and what they would now do differently.

It was not revealed which former Springbok coaches were invited to attend the meeting.

Erasmus was earlier this month confirmed as the new Springbok coach.

He has a six-year deal and he will combine his role of national coach with that of SA Rugby’s director of rugby.

A tough task awaits Erasmus as he attempts to resurrect the national team that won only 11 of 25 Tests during Allister Coetzee’s two-year tenure.

Erasmus’ first assignment will be a Test against Wales in Washington DC on June 2, which will be followed by a three-Test home series against England starting the following week.
