Rassie hails 'phenomenal' Beast

Cape Town - Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus says that Tendai Mtawarira has been "phenomenal" on his way to 100 Test caps.

The 32-year-old Sharks prop will become only the sixth South African to reach that milestone when he takes to the field in the second Test against England in Bloemfontein on Saturday, and Erasmus used his press briefing on Monday to pay tribute the man affectionately known as 'Beast'.

"He will definitely get picked," Erasmus said of Mtawarira.

"It's great. I played 39 times for the Springboks and for me that felt like a lot, so for a guy to reach 100 is phenomenal.

"To play at prop for 100 Test matches is unbelievable. What he brings to the party is great.

"He can be proud of himself and all of us can be proud of him."
