Cape Town - Ireland fullback Jared Payne has emerged as an injury doubt for Saturday’s series decider against the Springboks in Port Elizabeth.
According to the Irish Independent, Payne sat out training in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday.
He didn't finish Saturday's 32-26 defeat to South Africa in Johannesburg and Ireland have described his apparent injury as "cramp".
Scrum coach Greg Feek confirmed that "a couple" of players didn't train as Ireland manage the squad's load for their final game of the season.
Tiernan O'Halloran could make his first start for Ireland if Payne does not recover in time.
Ireland earlier this week also received a blow when centre Robbie Henshaw was ruled out.
Henshaw injured his knee in last Saturday’s second Test and will be operated on.
Ireland will name their team on Thursday, with the series is currently locked at 1-1.
