Cape Town - Former captain and No 8 Morne du Plessis handed out the Springboks' team jerseys ahead of Saturday's Test against England at Twickenham.
Du Plessis handed over the jerseys at the team's hotel in Kensington, London on Friday morning.
The 67-year-old Du Plessis played 22 Tests for the Springboks between 1971 and 1980.
He was also the Springbok team manager when they won the 1995 Rugby World Cup on home soil.
The Boks are unbeaten in their last 12 matches against England, with a 14-14 draw in 2012 the closest the Roses have come to victory.
Overall, the Springboks boast a 23-12 win-loss record, including two draws.
Kick-off for Saturday's clash is scheduled for 16:30 (SA time).
