Monty to auction off 2007 RWC semi-final jersey for coronavirus relief

Former Springbok fullback Percy Montgomery is auctioning off the jersey he wore in the semi-finals of 2007 Rugby World Cup.

Now 46, Montgomery will be donating the funds raised from the auction to thr Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation South Africa to play his part in the fight against the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. 

The Springboks beat Argentina 37-13 in the 2007 semi-final in Paris, with 17 of those points coming from the boot of Montgomery.

Montgomery would go on to finish as the tournament's leading points scorer that year with 105 as the Springboks beat England 15-6 in the final to win their second Rugby World Cup. 

Montgomery is also offering a second prize, which includes a two-night stay at his lavish Camps Bay penthouse in Cape Town and a tour of his Percy Montgomery rugby museum.
