Meyer's D-Day delayed by a week

Cape Town - The South African Rugby Union (SARU) has delayed its General Council meeting by a week.

The meeting was originally due to take place on December 4 and is understood to have a major influence on whether or not Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer's contract is extended following his semi-final exit at this year's Rugby World Cup.

The meeting will now take place on December 11 and will follow a meeting of the Executive Council on December 9.

SARU said on Friday via a statement that "any announcements emanating from the meetings are only likely to be made in the week beginning 14 December."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
