Malherbe joins Kolisi on crocked Boks list

Cape Town - The Springboks have been dealt another injury blow with confirmation that prop Frans Malherbe has been sidelined with a neck injury.

Malherbe’s franchise, the Stormers, confirmed on Wednesday that the Bok tighthead will be out of action for three months.

The Stormers also confirmed that flank Siya Kolisi had undergone surgery on his ankle and will also be out of action for the next three months.

Kolisi sustained the syndesmosis injury in the opening minutes of the Stormers' Super Rugby quarter-final against the Chiefs at Newlands last weekend.

The Stormers also said that flank Nizaam Carr's shoulder injury will be monitored by the medical staff, and at this stage he is expected to be out for two weeks.

The Boks start their Rugby Championship campaign against Argentina in Nelspruit on August 20 and finish against the All Blacks in Durban on October 8.
