Cape Town - Allister Coetzee on Tuesday became the 13th Springbok coach since readmission.
He joins a list of coaches - some more successful than others - who have looked to get Springbok rugby to the top of the pile ever since the side was allowed back into the international sporting arena in 1992.
Since then, Kitch Christie and Jake White have won Rugby World Cups while Nick Mallett boasts an impressive win ratio of 71% that included a record-breaking streak of 17 straight wins.
But there have also been a few tenures that South African rugby would rather forget - the post-2000 Harry Viljoen and Rudolph Straeuli days particularly dark.
Where will Coetzee slot in on list of Bok coaches?
We'll have to wait until 2019 to find out ...
