Cape Town - In a light-hearted - and thankfully non-serious - moment at the Springboks' training session in Johannesburg on Tuesday, an 82-year-old grandmother made a "memorable" entrance.
Rassie Erasmus' squad were busy preparing at St Stithians College for their one-off Test against Wales in Washington DC on Saturday (kick-off at 23:00 SA time) - and the three-Test series against England which follows immediately thereafter - when the granny literally crashed proceedings.
The octogenarian drove her Chevy Spark into a ditch, requiring a flatbed tow truck to help extricate the car.
Despite a few tears, she escaped unharmed.
Some excitement here at @Springboks training at St Stithians as an 82 year old granny accidentally drove her 4-day old Chevy Spark into a ditch this morning. She's fine, but a little teary. pic.twitter.com/HUebkaDd56
