Local newspaper slams Boks: 0/10 for whole team!

Cape Town - Following the Springboks’ shock 20-18 defeat to Italy in Florence, a local newspaper awarded the players equally shocking player ratings.

Afrikaans weekly, Rapport, poked fun at the team when they gave each player a 0/10 rating (see picture below).

It was the Springboks’ first ever loss to the Italians, who were ranked 13th in the world heading into the Test.

Under coach Allister Coetzee’s tutelage in 2016, the Boks have lost seven of 11 Tests.

It has included a first ever loss to Ireland on home soil, losing away to Argentina and getting pummelled by a record 57-15 scoreline at home against the All Blacks.

It was the Springboks' first loss to Italy in 13 Tests - a far cry from the 101-0 win for South Africa in 1999.

The Boks conclude their year-end European tour when they tackle Wales in Cardiff on Saturday.
