Lambie: I'll be ready for Ireland

Cape Town - Injured Sharks flyhalf Pat Lambie says he will be available for the Springboks' three-Test series against Ireland in June.

In an interview with Rapport, Lambie, who hurt his shoulder in the pre-season match against Toulon, insisted he would be match-sharp too.

“I expect to return in May," said Lambie. “This will hopefully mean that I get in three to four (Super Rugby) matches before June. I've started training again and should be ready to run on the field full out within the next three weeks.”

With Handre Pollard out for the season with a knee injury, Lambie and Elton Jantjies appear to be the top candidates for the Bok No 10 jersey.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
