Cape Town - Springbok flank Siya Kolisi has called on his team-mates to put everything into their last Test of the year against Wales in Cardiff.

It was a topsy-turvy season for the Springboks, who started well by beating France 3-0 in a home series.

However, the Boks only won two of six games in the Rugby Championship, including a record 57-0 loss to the All Blacks in Albany.

On the first game of their year-end European tour, the Boks suffered a record 38-3 defeat to Ireland in Dublin, before rebounding to beat France (18-17, Paris) and Italy (35-6, Padova).

Kolisi, who was on paternity leave last weekend, is expected to return to the Springbok starting team for Saturday’s clash in Cardiff.

He was speaking at a press conference there on Tuesday when he stressed the importance of finishing the year on a high.

Last year, the Boks lost their last Test 27-13 to Wales in Cardiff.

“It’s our last game and we’re very excited. All the boys are keen, we want to finish strong,” Kolisi said, as quoted by SA Rugbymag.

“Coach Franco (Smith) told us that this is the game we will be remembered for until we play in a Springbok jersey again. So, we’re going to give it everything we have this weekend.”

Kolisi added that he was looking forward to the challenge posed by Wales, who impressed at times during last weekend's home defeat to the All Blacks.

The Welsh only trailed by one point (12-11) at half-time, before losing 33-18 - their 30th straight loss to New Zealand dating back to 1953.

“Josh Navidi played well against the All Blacks last week. The Wales loose forwards like to play with ball in hand and they also defend well. Obviously we will have to cover the whole width of the field. It’s going to be a different challenge. They showed what they can do against the No 1 team in the world, so we will need to be on our toes.”

Bok coach Allister Coetzee will name his side on Thursday, with Saturday’s Test scheduled for 16:30 (SA time).
