Jesse Kriel's brutal lockdown workout has us sweating!

Springbok centre Jesse Kriel is putting in the hard yards in an attempt to remain in shape during the Covid-19 enforced global lockdown.

Known as a player who doesn't shy away from a gym session, Kriel has taken his training outdoors - and we're sweating just reading what he gets up to!

First up, a 'gentle' 3km warm-up ... at 4:30/km pace (that's 13:30 for the 3 000m)

That's followed by 10x500m sprints at a sub 3:30/km pace with a short break in-between to allow for your heart rate to get below 155 beats per minute.

And just when you think you're done, a little 2km warm down.

I guess you don't get to play 46 Tests for your country and 70 Super Rugby matches for the Bulls by sitting on your couch ...
