Jaco Kriel linked with move to England

Cape Town - Springbok flank Jaco Kriel is reportedly high on the wish-list of an English Premiership club.

According to Afrikaans weekly newspaper, Rapport, Wasps are eager for Kriel to join them from the Lions.

Kriel played his eighth Test for the Springboks against France at Ellis Park this past weekend.

Should Kriel opt to join Wasps, he would not be eligible for the Springboks outside of a World Cup year as SA Rugby’s new policy states that only overseas-based players with 30 or more Test caps can be picked for the national team.

Other South Africans already on Wasps’ books are hooker/flanker Ashley Johnson, utility back Willie le Roux and centre Juan de Jongh.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
