SA Rugby will confirm the Springbok management team for the 2018 season at 11:30 on Thursday and Proudfoot's name is not expected to be on the list.

Several reports have indicated that Rassie Erasmus, SA Rugby’s director of rugby, will be named head coach, while his support staff is expected to comprise of Jacques Nienaber (defence coach), Pieter de Villiers (scrum coach) and Mzwandile Stick (backline coach).

According to Netwerk24, there is not yet clarity over Proudfoot's role at SA Rugby, but he could be deployed to another position at the rugby governing body.

Thursday’s announcement will be followed by a media conference in Randburg.
