Cape Town - The Springbok captain for the three-Test series against Ireland will be named on Monday.
New coach Allister Coetzee will make the announcement at the Paul Roos Markötter Clubhouse in Stellenbosch at 17:00.
The announcement will follow the Springbok squad’s first field training session at the same venue.
With an overseas captain ruled out, front-runners for the captaincy appear to be Adriaan Strauss, Pat Lambie and Warren Whiteley.
The Springboks play Ireland in Cape Town (June 11), Johannesburg (June 18) and Port Elizabeth (June 25).
