Beast set for major milestone in Bloem

Cape Town - Springbok prop Tendai Mtawarira is set for a major milestone in Saturday's second Test against England in Bloemfontein.

If Mtawarira starts, as he is expected to do, or even comes on as a replacement, he will become just the sixth South African to reach 100 Test caps for his country.

Mtawarira will also become the first black South African and first prop to reach the milestone.

Victor Matfield is currently the most-capped Springbok with 127 Tests, followed by Bryan Habana (124), John Smit (111), Jean de Villiers (109) and Percy Montgomery (102).

Now 32, Mtawarira will also become the 54th player in the history of the game to bring up three figures on the Test stage.

Of the current players in the Bok set-up, Mtawarira is easily the most experienced. Of the players in the 23-man squad that played against England on Saturday, Willie le Roux is the next most experienced with 42 caps.
