Cape Town - Flank Francois Louw is expected to be available for the Springbok Tests in June despite an ankle injury.
Louw, 28, damaged his ligaments playing for English club, Bath, against London Irish on March 22 but the problem does not require surgery, the BBC Sport website reports.
Bath are hopeful that the 28-capped Springbok can play a part in their final four games of the regular season.
"He could have had to have an operation and be out for the season but luckily that's not the case. But we're not sure when he'll be back. It will be a few weeks," said Bath head coach Mike Ford.
The means Louw is likely to the available for the Springboks' Tests against Wales and Scotland in June.
