Brüssow: I'll always keep trying

Cape Town - Cheetahs flank Heinrich Brüssow says he'll keep fighting as hard as possible to add to the 20 Test matches he'd played for the Springboks.

Brüssow, 27, was on Monday included in a 36-man Springbok squad to attend a national training camp in Durban from May 25 to 28.

It is, however, not the final Bok group for the June Test window and the Cheetahs ace could still find it tough to make the final cut.

Francois Louw, Siya Kolisi and Marcell Coetzee are believed to be ahead of him in the pecking order.

But Brüssow, whose last Test came at the 2011 Rugby World Cup, is prepared to fight for his spot.

"You always keep trying, especially after you've been with the Boks before. It gives you the hunger to be there again and I'll always keep trying," he told the Volksblad website.

The final Springbok squad will be named on May 31.

The Springboks start their year with a game against the World XV at Newlands on June 7, followed by two Tests against Wales (Durban, June 14 and Nelspruit, June 21) and one against Scotland (Port Elizabeth, June 28).

The 36-man Springbok training squad (Players based in France, England and Ireland were not considered for this camp as most of them are still playing for their respective clubs):

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
