Bookies lose faith in Boks

Cape Town - The Springboks' odds on winning next year's Rugby World Cup have lengthened following their dismal end of year tour.

The Boks' woeful series of performances over the past month where they lost to Ireland and Wales, struggled against minnows Italy and only put in one performance of any note - against England - has seen bookmakers lose faith in Heyneke Meyer's men some 10 months out from rugby's global spectacle.

The All Blacks have been installed as 6/4 favourites, ahead of hosts England (4/1), while the Boks are now seen as third favourites at 9/2.

The Wallabies are next best at 9/1, marginally ahead of Ireland (10/1), Wales and France (both 18/1).

The 2015 Rugby World Cup kicks off on September 18.
