Cape Town - Springbok lock Andries Bekker and his wife, Pioni, have divorced.
The divorce was finalised in the Western Cape High Court on Wednesday.
Bekker was embroiled in a scandal last year when Huisgenoot revealed he was having an affair with another woman.
Huisgenoot published photos taken from a hidden position of Bekker and 23-year old Alet Strydom embracing each other intimately at a park in Plattekloof, a suburb of Cape Town.
Bekker's affair with Strydom lasted for approximately five months.
Bekker, who arrived at court dressed in a black pin-striped suit, said the reasons for the divorce were because "he lost interest in the marriage", and because he is "away from home a lot".
Bekker and Pioni were married outside of community of property.
Upon being asked if there was any hope of the marriage being reconciled in court, a self assured Bekker answered "No".
Frikkie Erasmus, Bekker's lawyer, stated that both parties had agreed on how the assets would be divided.
"The application was brought before the court on Wednesday morning," said Erasmus
Pioni did not attend the court proceedings.
