Gourdon: Wins will come for France

Cape Town - France flanker Kevin Gourdon is confident his side's performances will start to bear fruit if they continue to work hard under Guy Novès.

Gourdon was again impressive in his team's loss away to Ireland on Saturday, following up his fine showing against Scotland in Round 2.

Next for the French is a tough trip to Italy and the La Rochelle flanker believes if they cut out their errors, the rewards will come in Rome.

"Our style of play is demanding, and it is true that we make quite a few errors because of that," Gourdon told the Six Nations website.

"It's up to us to remove this doubt with hard work, to make the right pass at the right time and I am confident that it is going to pay off soon enough.

"We were disappointed to have not converted our dominant period in points but we stayed concentrated and positive."

He added on their performance in Dublin: "We will have to look at the match in the cold light of day.

"We have a good first 20 minutes but we made too many errors to compete for a whole international Test match.

"Right now - to be honest - I don't know what positives we can take. We struggled territorially after that."
