French-Irish rematch delayed

Paris - Six Nations organisers say the postponed game between France and Ireland will not be played this upcoming weekend.

The Six Nations Council made the decision after meeting on Monday. Another meeting will take place on Tuesday to "resolve the issues of rescheduling and ticket policy."

The match was called off a few minutes before kickoff on Saturday because of a frozen pitch that made playing potentially dangerous.

The Six Nations Council and the French and Irish rugby federations are currently negotiating to find a new date.

According to French daily L'Equipe, the French rugby league would like the match to be played after the end of the season, so that French clubs aren't deprived of their internationals again.
