Cape Town - 2017 may not have been the best year for South African rugby from a Springbok perspective, but at least we had the Blitzboks.
Neil Powell's men won their first World Rugby Sevens Series title since the 2008/09 season when they lifted the trophy back in May.

Having won five of the 10 tournaments in the 2016/17 season, South Africa were a cut above the rest having won bronze at the Rio Olympics back in 2016.
On Saturday, in the spirit of looking back at the year, World Rugby used their Twitter page to pay tribute to the Blitzboks class of 2016/17 by showing a video of them lifting the trophy in London.
The Blitzboks are off to another good start in 2017/18, having won the Dubai Sevens before finishing third in front of their home crowd at the Cape Town Sevens eariler this month.
The World Series resumes next year on January 26 with the Sydney leg before moving to Hamilton the following weekend.
