Cape Town - Selvyn Davids was the only South African included in the Dream Team for this past weekend’s Hong Kong Sevens.
With the first-choice players at the Commonwealth Games in Australia, the South Africans took a “B team" to the event in Hong Kong.
The rookies however performed admirably by claiming third spot - courtesy of beating New Zealand 26-7 in the Bronze final.
However, tournament organisers could find only one spot for a South African player in the Dream Team.
Davids, who scored seven tries at the weekend, was also honoured with the Player of the Tournament accolade.
Hong Kong champions Fiji had four representatives in the team - Kalione Nasoko, Semi Kunatani, Eroni Sau and Amenoni Nasilasila - while beaten finalists Kenya provided the two other players in Oscar Ouma and Willy Ambaka.
