Cape Town - Juan de Jongh was an instrumental part of the Blitzboks' victorious display at the Cape Town Sevens over the weekend.
The Western Province and Stormers centre has made the switch to Sevens this year as he eyes the 2016 Rio Olympics, and he was full of praise for his team-mates following Sunday's 29-14 win over Argentina in the tournament final.
"The past six weeks have been absolutely fantastic. I’ve learnt a lot and the culture in the team is absolutely amazing. Hopefully I can get more opportunities, I’m having a blast," De Jongh said.
"It’s been seven years since the last time I played and I’ve learnt a lot.
"There are so many small little details that you have to change but luckily I have some fantastic guys around me helping me out. There are no egos in this squad and everybody pulls their weight which is fantastic."
Coach Neil Powell has also pleased with the way that De Jongh and the other '15s' players had performed over the weekend.
"It’s great to see the 15s guys coming in and the way they’re fitting into our squad is fantastic," said Powell.
"Juan came through nicely."
The third round of the season takes place in Wellington on January 30 and 31.
