Blitzboks stage Twitter takeover

Cape Town - Three of the most popular South African rugby stars on social media, Bryan Habana, Kyle Brown and Seabelo Senatla, will on Tuesday, 1 March 2016, chat directly with rugby fans from Las Vegas in a unique and new social media fan engagement initiative.

The trio of players, who are in the USA with the Springbok Sevens team, will take over the @Blitzboks Twitter account for one hour on Tuesday from 19h00 to 20h00 (SA time), in what is a first of its kind for South African rugby on the popular social media platform.

Springbok Sevens supporters are urged to participate in this unique fan activity. In order to do so they should log onto Twitter from 19h00 on Tuesday and send questions to the trio using the hashtag #ASKBOK7S

Brown, the Springbok Sevens captain, said he and his team mates are looking forward to the opportunity to interact with the team’s supporters worldwide.

“We always get good support from our fans wherever we play in the world, but to engage directly with our fans in this manner is something special. I would like to urge our fans to send as many questions as they can,” said Brown.

The Springbok Sevens squad is currently in Las Vegas for round five of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, which takes from 4 to 6 March.
