Blitzboks crush Russia in Hong Kong

Cape Town - The Blitzboks have easily beaten Russia in their second Pool C match at the Hong Kong Sevens, running out 50-0 victors in a one-sided Pool B encounter.

South Africa proved far too strong for their Russian opponents and scored tries through Ruhan Nel, Branco du Preez and Seabelo Senatla to lead 19-0 at half-time

In the second-half the floodgates opened with Kwagga Smith, Cecil Afrika, debutant Siviwe Soyizwapi, Justin Geduld and Stephan Dippenaar all crossing the whitewash for the Blitzboks.

Senatla now leads the HSBC Sevens World Series scoring charts with 45 tries while Perry Baker of the United States and Savenaca Rawaca of Fiji are in a very distant second place with 32 touchdowns apiece.

The Blitzboks next face Scotland at 11:54 (SA time).
