Blitzboks cruise into Hong Kong semi-final

Cape Town - The Blitzboks have cruised into the semi-finals of the Hong Kong Sevens, easily downing Spain 38-5 in their quarter-final clash.

Spurred on by a hat-trick for Muller du Plessis, the Blitzboks proved far to strong for the Spanish, despite South Africa receiving two yellow cards during the encounter.

Marius Schoeman's charges scored two further tries through Dewald Human and Selvyn Davids while Davids, Human and Rhyno Smith each slotted a conversion.

Pol Pla managed to cross the whitewash for Spain.

The Blitzboks now face Fiji the semi-finals at 9:41 (SA time).
