Blitzboks bounce back to beat Scotland

Cape Town - The Blitzboks put the disappointment of crashing out of the Cup competition at the World Rugby Sevens series stop in Dubai in the quarter-final stage behind them with a thumping victory over Scotland in the Plate playoffs on Saturday.

The Blitzboks beat their Scottish opponents 29-0 after leading 5-0 at half-time.

The Blitzboks scored tries through Muller du Plessis (2), Zain Davids, Rosko Specman and Werner Kok. Dewald Human added two conversions.

Neil Powell's side will face the winner of the Fiji v Argentina clash in the battle for 5th/6th at the tournament.

That match is scheduled for 16:40 SA time.

Earlier, the Blitzboks were thrashed 22-5 by England in their Cup quarter-final clash.

On Friday, the Blitzboks, who are the reigning Sevens series world champions, beat Zimbabwe 31-0 and Samoa 19-12, but lost 19-12 to Argentina.

The Blitzboks were the defending Dubai champions.
