We can win World Cup - Brown

Cape Town - The Springbok Sevens team arrived in the Russian capital of Moscow on Sunday for the Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament (28-30 June) but the full squad will only train on Tuesday.

Two team members, Cheslin Kolbe and Seabelo Senatla, will fly out to Moscow on Monday, having taken part in the Junior Springboks’ 41-34 win over New Zealand in the third place playoff at the IRB Junior Rugby Championship in Vannes, France on Sunday,

Despite travelling for just more than 15 hours, the squad was ready for action and relived to finally be in Moscow, said captain Kyle Brown shortly after arrival at the Domodedovo International Airport outside the city.

“We are used to the travel, so that is not really an issue. Some guys have had a good rest since the Sevens World Series finished, so it is just matter of adding the mental aspect to our game. We are pretty pleased to be here and look forward to doing well,” Brown said.

“We certainly believe we can win this.”
