Mbovane joins Blitzbokke

Cape Town - Another member of the victorious Springbok Sevens team has been forced out of this weekend’s Marriott London Sevens tournament, the last in the 2012/13 HSBC World Sevens Series.

Outside back Steven Hunt suffered ankle ligament damage in Glasgow and was withdrawn by the medical team on Wednesday.

He will be replaced by Tshotsho Mbovane, who helped the South Africans capture the Tokyo Sevens crown in Japan in March.

Hunt is the fourth member of the side that won the Emirates Airlines Glasgow Sevens on Sunday to miss the last tournament of the Series.

On Tuesday Paul Delport was forced out of the London event due to a knee injury, while Seabelo Senatla and Justin Geduld on Monday returned to South Africa to join up with the Junior Springboks squad.

Cecil Afrika, Werner Kok, Bernado Botha and Mbovane are the confirmed replacements.

The revised Springbok Sevens squad for the Marriott Sevens in London is:
Frankie Horne (captain), Philip Snyman, Chris Dry, Jamba Ulengo, Stephan Dippenaar, Werner Kok*, Cecil Afrika, Bernado Botha, WJ Strydom, Tshotsho Mbovane, Pieter Engelbrecht, Cornal Hendricks.

*Debutant.
