Blitzbokke edge past England

2012-11-30 09:45

Cape Town - The South African Sevens team have beaten England in their opening clash at the HSBC Sevens World Series match in Dubai on Friday.

The Blitzbokke won 19-10 after leading 12-5 at half-time.

The Blitzbokke scored tries through Chris Dry, Paul Delport and Stephan Dippenaar. Steven Hunt and Philip Snyman each added a conversion.

England replied with tries by Tom Powell and Dan Norton.

However the victory may have come at a massive cost as captain Kyle Brown had to limp off with a serious looking ankle injury early in the match.

The Blitzbokke will take on Portugal (13:06) and Samoa (17:44) in their remaining Pool C matches on Friday.
