Cape Town - A club from Scotland is apparently hunting the services of Cheetahs prop WP Nel, 11 months before his contract ends in Bloemfontein.
The Volksblad newspaper reports that Nel is so highly regarded that the club is willing to sign him for 2013 already.
The tighthead is still available for the Cheetahs in this year's Super Rugby tournament as well as the Currie Cup.
And according to Volskblad he will then head overseas.
Nel's agent, Anthony Johnson, did not respond when queried whether Nel will play for Edinburgh or the Glasgow Warriors.
Nel, 25, is still young enough to make the shift in the hope of qualifying to play for Scotland one day.
He is currently recovering from a shoulder operation and won't play for the Cheetahs in their pre-season match against the Southern Kings in East London on Saturday.
However, he is expected to be fit for their warm-up games against the Griffons, Stormers and Bulls.
